On the Metro
These chatters will talk The way that rabbits breed Banging on and on The girl on the back seat Would rather count sheep And the lady in the Sunday church hat Would prefer a sermon to all that Bibble-babble pitter-patter English reticence went out when The fashion didn't crave it These women have stories Coming out of their beady ears Each stream of vituperations Grips them like white-water rafting What else is a girl to do for kicks? Keep quiet? Adore the cityscape? Plot life's escape route through the clouds? Rummage in a scrap heap for gold nuggets? Tackle the question of ME? © David Incoll 2001 |
