The Coil Uncoiled Fertile plains lie between Concrete blocks that feign Ivory mountains Any patch of sun-drenched grass Sprouts fleshy limbs Blanched by weary winter The first hint of spring-shine Limps through muslin Clings to the creaking soil Girls and boys pepper the place Books lie like empty bottles Drained of hibernation Pangs of wet lust creep in an eye Moist lips form grains Of desire to be snapped Axillary light-punchers The half-hidden breast Plays with the pervert This is a marriage of likes One mind with fresh wounds One body with release © David Incoll 2001 |
